Obituary for Lora Edwards

Lora Edwards Henderson, Tennessee: Lora Lucille Edwards was born on July 1, 1932 to Roy and Dorothy Young and passed away on May 30, 2021 at Henderson Health and Rehabilitation in Henderson, TN. She worked for many years as a secretary and receptionist for Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She was a lifelong member of the church of Christ and for the last 23 years of her life, a very active member of the Finger Church of Christ in Finger, TN. Lora married Earl Edwards on January 2, 1988. She was a noted soloist and singer for weddings and theater productions and had a passion for music. She was a member and past president of the Freed-Hardeman National Associates. She organized the Associates fashion show for many years, which became the Victorian Tea Party. She is survived by her loving husband, Earl Edwards of Henderson, TN; by two sons, James Eddington Majors, Jr. of Rogers, Arkansas and Daniel Royce Majors of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her stepson Terry Lynn Edwards and wife Kim of Wetumpka, Alabama, and a stepdaughter Karen Denise Drew and husband Daniel of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by a son, Joel Wayne Majors. Lora had a deep empathy for people and was the first one to lend a listening ear, always the first to feel the pain of others. The service will be held by Terry Edwards, Tom Childers, and Billy Smith at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel Wednesday June 2, 2021 at 11:30 AM. She will be buried in Henderson City Cemetery.
